上海海昌极地海洋公园位于浦东新区南汇新城，距上海中心城区约80公里。总用地面积约为29.7公顷，规划总建筑面积约20.5万平方米，其中地上建筑面积约14.7万平方米，分为五大主题区，由6个展示场馆、3个大型动物互动与表演场、2个大型影院及10余项游乐设施设备组成。还包括一个邮轮概念海洋主题度假酒店，展示南北极特色动物以及海洋鱼类，并提供设备娱乐、特效电影、动物科普展示和水上巡游等娱乐活动。已于2018年11月16日正式开门营业。门票300左右，淡旺季会上下浮动。
如下物品禁止携带入内：
1.法律规定的危险物品；
2.食物、含酒精饮品及罐装或瓶装饮品；
3.彩旗、锣鼓、高音喇叭、遥控玩具、横幅等；
4.任何装有轮子的运送工具及代步工具等（婴儿车及轮椅除外）；
5.刀具类（生活用刀具，如小刀、水果刀等）。
其他注意事项
1.不要随意触摸或投喂动物；
2.不要用闪光灯拍摄或拍打展缸；
3.孕妇、心脏病、高血压、精神病患者，及酒后、高龄及身体状况不佳等游客限乘园内一切游乐设备。在乘坐设备之前，需要认真阅读游客须知，并衡量自身及同行人员是否可乘。
4.童车禁止进入剧场、展馆及部分餐厅，可询问现场工作人员。
5.公园不提供寻人广播服务，如有迷失，可向园区工作人员说明或去游客服务中心求助。游客服务中心在极地小镇主题区域的科诺斯之钟。园外的游客服务中心位于WOW大门左侧。
6.部分场合禁止使用自拍杆：游乐设备；人流密集剧场、展馆和观看户外演出区间。
7.公园禁止携带宠物入园（导盲犬除外）。
8.无人机、遥控飞机、风筝都是不允许的。拍婚纱、写真、直播和小视频也不允许。
9.ATM机在WOW大门左侧，以及及主题度假酒店内。
10.应急医疗服务位于检票口左侧。
11.寄存柜位于WOW大门右侧。
12.失物招领可去游客服务中心。
13.海豚剧场南侧有母婴室。
